That’s how much retail sales will total in 2020, an 0.8% or $41.2 billion increase from 2019, according to estimates by market researcher eMarketer. In April, eMarketer had forecast a 10.5% decline in retail sales in 2020 when compared to 2019. “The U.S has done an almost unbelievable about-face when it comes to consumer spending,” according to eMarketer’s Ethan Cramer-Flood.
