A study from Market Research Future Reports forecasts the worldwide blockchain in supply chain market will reach $3.485 billion by 2023. "Growing need for developed security of supply chain transactions is the primary factor driving the global blockchain in supply chain," it said.

"The logistics industry continues to grow, but at a reduced rate relative to the torrid pace of the last few months. ... That being said, December 2020’s reading is still well above the historic index average."

— A comment from the Logistics Managers' Index (LMI) concerning activity at the close of 2020. "The dip in numbers does not necessarily represent that things are quieting down, merely that the rates of growth are slowing," LMI observed this week. The index is a joint project of Arizona State University, Colorado State University, University of Nevada at Reno, Rochester Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, supported by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
